Report warns against Coral Triangle collapse

The coral triangle, spanning Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste, is home to the world’s most abundant variety of corals and sea life. It holds the richest concentration of iridescent corals, fish, crustaceans, mollusks and marine plants in the world. CNN reports that a WWF- commissioned study outlined at the World Ocean Conference this week warned that the richly diverse coral reefs of the Coral Triangle around southeast Asia will disappear by the end of the century if action is not taken against climate change.
